Catching My Breath…

Catching My Breath…

Hey guys! 👋 Just checking in with a quick update.

It’s been a rough couple of months. After just one round of Truxima (a “biosimilar” to the Rituxan treatments I’ve been receiving for years to manage my RA) I’ve had a 103° fever two different times; I’ve gone through FOUR rounds of antibiotics, two chest X-rays and a CT scan – and STILL have shortness of breath and pneumonia in both lungs.

I’ve also lost 20+ pounds over the past two months.

I was finally able to see a pulmonologist this morning. Most of my vitals are normal — a breathing test showed reduced capacity (obviously). The doc says that, given my medical history, it could be any number of things — so he ordered a bronchoscopy to figure out exactly what’s going on so we can FINALLY get this cleared up!

That’s the thing with chronic illness — you can’t always tell by looking at someone what they’re dealing with. And it can be incredibly frustrating when you want to do “all of the things,” but your body won’t let you. (Of course, I do them anyway…) 😉

Funny how when you reach a certain age, you get all of the “oscopies.” At least this one’s going in a more pleasant place. 😄

Thank you for following along on my journey. I’m hoping to get some answers soon. In the meantime, whatever YOU might be dealing with, just remember — I’m right here with you, and NEVER GIVE UP. 🙏♥️
