“There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope.” – Bernard Williams

My morning drive the other day was pretty spectacular… 🌅
After nearly two decades of going to work in the dark, watching the sun rise is still one of my favorite things. There are so many metaphors there, it’s hard to know where to begin… but most of all, I think the sunrise gives me hope, perspective and gratitude.

As much as I enjoy the light and the promise of a new day, I’m also grateful for the dark. After all, could we really appreciate the promise of what the new day brings if we haven’t experienced the darkness of the past?
I’m grateful for adversity. I’m grateful for perspective. I’m grateful for change.
In addition to the sunrise, I’ve also noticed that I take a lot of pictures of roads. Maybe it’s because, to me, they symbolize the journey — knowing what road you’re on, but not really knowing what lies ahead.

Instead of being fearful, I find it invigorating and inspiring.
We know there will be twists and turns — and some days, probably even a few detours. But every day, I give thanks to be able to embark on my own personal journey through life. Bring it on — all of it: the beauty, the chaos, the uncertainty and the fulfillment.

The sunrise and the road are visceral reminders to me of how grateful I am for every single day. 🙏♥️ #PSNeverGiveUp
