#MondayMotivation “What to Wear Today? How About #MondayMotivation “What to Wear Today? How About Your AWESOME?” For the past year or so, there’s been little desire to bother with wearing things like, say, pants. Except maybe yoga pants. (Although I don’t think anyone wants to see ME wearing those...) 🙅‍♂️ Loungewear and/or sweatpants has been THE go-to attire for most of us. “Business attire” for many has been what I like to call the “Zoom suit” — business up top, and shorts or sweatpants (or no pants) below. I’ll be honest — I can certainly appreciate a fine suit — but I definitely don’t miss wearing one every day. 👔 Now that we’re finally able to *GASP* meet FACE-TO-FACE again (and might need to make ourselves look somewhat “presentable”), there’s one accessory that has never let me down — CONFIDENCE. Whether you’re in the boardroom or on stage, it’s the one thing that will instantly make ANYONE feel MUCH better, in any situation. Guaranteed. When times are tough, it can be hard to find. But like a missing cuff link or earring, once you find it, it just sort of completes your whole “look.” More importantly, it can change your entire OUTlook as well. #WednesdayWisdom: The Smallest Steps Cover the Mos #WednesdayWisdom: The Smallest Steps Cover the Most Distance. 👣 Lately Sofia has been very curious about Daddy’s feet. She knows that — like my hands — they look “different” from hers. Thanks to my collapsed arches, my feet point outward and my toes overlap. My bunions are at almost 90-degree angles. The damage and deformities in my feet look very similar to my hands. Some of the joints are bent backwards — for me, a short walk feels like making a fist and walking on your knuckles for miles. My toes are frequently calloused and sore. To be honest, it can be painful to wear shoes, let alone stand up — but ironically, I can’t stand on hard floors without them. Strangely enough, standing barefoot on soft carpet or even in the grass feels AMAZING! (Walking in the sand on the beach feels pretty good, too...) Sofia knows that Daddy’s feet didn’t always look this way. I covered a lot of miles with my “old feet,” before they changed. Now, I just appreciate each step a little more. No matter what you’re facing, every little step counts. Look at all of the steps you’ve taken to get to where you are right now! Some strides might be longer than others. Maybe you’ve even had to tip-toe a few times... The point is, you’re still moving forward. I’ve got a lot of road still to travel with my “special feet” — I look forward to celebrating every step along the way. Story Time! 📝 Many years ago, my high school b Story Time! 📝 Many years ago, my high school buddy Jeff invited me to visit him in South Carolina, to get over a bad breakup I was going through. He was working as an EMT on Kiawah Island at the time, and asked if I wanted to go for a “ride along” with him and his partner. Let’s just say that flipping over while riding in the back of an ambulance DEFINITELY took my mind off of things… 🚑😜 I mean, the story would be crazy enough on its own, if I didn’t have photographic proof that it really happened.🤪 And keep in mind that this was back before digital photos were a thing — so I actually had to drop off the film to get these developed. 📸 Not pictured: sitting in and singing with a Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute act at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach the next night… (Unfortunately I do NOT have any photos of that…) But that’s a story for another time… 😄 #TBT #throwbackthursday #ambulance #flipped #ridealong #memories #truestory #PSNeverGiveUp
